About the Show
Dear Alpaca Exhibitors, Vendors and Guests:
Welcome to the 2011 National Champions’ Alpaca Show, an ALSA sanctioned show at The
Champions Center in Springfield, Ohio.
We have created a “complete” show experience in a “small” show venue. This two-day show has
one or two halter rings, depending on the number of entries. There will be great competition in a
more personal environment, where farms new and old, small and large will come, exhibit, and
feel at home.
We have provided a show experience for families. A complete performance show will be offered
on Saturday, with showmanship, obstacle, public relations, and pack for adults, youth at all age
levels, and even the very young. Performance Championships will be awarded for those
competing in Open and Youth classes.
There will be a scavenger hunt for our youth, divided into teams of 3 or 4. Scavenger hunt
packets may be picked up Friday evening, and are due back at 5:00pm Saturday. In addition the
Show will host a Meet & Greet informal light supper on Friday evening, seminars Friday
afternoon, vendors and fiber arts demonstrations all weekend, and a social on Saturday evening.
There’s a complete fleece show! This show includes a “Mail In” 2 oz. sample show that will
judged prior to the event and displayed throughout the weekend. The Fleece Show will be judged
Friday Evening. The Walking Fiber classes always are a complete sell out! Be sure to enter in
advance. Championships in the Sample, Fleece show and Walking Fiber competitions will be
awarded based on number of entries.
The National Champions’ Alpaca Show is incorporated as a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation, run
by volunteers and committed to invest all excess profits back to the alpaca industry to support
education, medical research, and science.
We truly appreciate the support we have received from our sponsors and our many volunteers.
The quality of this show depends on your financial contributions, time and talent!
Please look through these web pages. You will find information that will help you complete the
on-line registration forms, reserve hotel rooms and get directions to the show facility. We look
forward to seeing you on September 30-October 2, 2011!
